Cocktail benefit honors Lyn and Dan Lerner, Quantum Foundation and W. Trent Steele

PALM BEACH, Fla. – FoundCare, Inc., hosted its très chic 2017 À Votre Santé (To Your Health) cocktail benefit reception recently at Club Colette in Palm Beach. Nearly 200 guests toasted to their health while enjoying live music, hors d’oeuvres and a silent auction, all to support the Federally Qualified Health Center. Key medical and community leaders who support FoundCare’s mission attended the elegant evening.

Dr. David and Donna Dodson were the chairpersons for this year’s event, and committee members included Susan and Jim Collins, Eric Diaz and Barnette and Ken Druskin.

A lighted Eiffel Tower greeted guests at the entrance of the club. The Parisian café-styled jazz band, Les Nuages (The Clouds), serenaded guests with authentic French love songs and gypsy jazz.

In setting the tone for celebrating the evening’s honorees – W. Trent Steele, Quantum Foundation and Lyn and Dan Lerner, all long-time supporters – Dr. Dodson shared stories of FoundCare’s early days with the attendees. “Morally, it’s wrong for people not to have access to healthcare,” Dr. Dodson said. “A few people in this room recognized that and had a vision to help. Through hard work, that vision became a reality. I want to thank you all for supporting us because that supports the people in our community who are underserved.”

FoundCare, Inc., provides quality healthcare to the Palm Beach County community. To help further the mission of fulfilling unmet healthcare and social service needs of individuals and families, the organization offers pediatric and adult primary care, chronic disease management, behavioral health services, dentistry, laboratory services and X-rays, and an on-site pharmacy, all in one location. FoundCare serves every patient who comes through the doors, regardless of insurance status or ability to pay.

W. Trent Steele was honored for his tireless commitment to the cause. “Trent sees someone hurting and wants to help,” Dr. Dodson said. “He is that rare person with both passion and compassion, and he was one of the original architects of FoundCare.”

Quantum Foundation was honored for their work with FoundCare from the organization’s inception. As Palm Beach County’s largest private health funder, Quantum Foundation has invested more than $3.6 million since 2004 to support FoundCare’s mission.

Lyn and Dan Lerner were celebrated for their longtime support. After one of their children survived a life-threatening illness, they realized some families can go bankrupt from medical bills. According to Dr. Dodson, the Lerners were inspired to dedicate their charitable giving to health issues and were instrumental in supporting FoundCare’s local influence.

Dr. Dodson’s remarks were topped off with a surprise cake, presented by his wife, Donna, in honor of his birthday.

Guests attending included Suzi Goldsmith, Arlette Gordon, Cheryl Gowdy, Janet and Mark Levy, William Meyer, Patsy and Donald Mintmire, Donna Mullholland, Hermé de Wyman Miro, Frank and Geri Morrow, Cathy and Steve Moore and Robbi and Bruce Toll.

Sponsors included Beth and Marc Goldberg, the International Society of Palm Beach – Hermé de Wyman Miro, Palm Beach Society Magazine, Call 4 Health, Dr. David and Donna Dodson, Florida Crystals, Mittleman Eye, Mary and Mark Freitas, and Sullivan, Inc.
