To help women prepare for their mammograms and address common questions they might have, we sat down with Staci Shapiro, FoundCare’s dedicated Mammography Technologist. Let's start with the basics. What is a mammogram, and why are they important?

Staci: A mammogram is a type of X-ray that is used to screen for breast cancer. It is essential because it can detect breast cancer in its early stages when treatment is most effective. Early detection increases the chances of successful treatment and a better prognosis.

Staci joined FoundCare in 2020, bringing with her 20 years of experience as a Mammography Technologist. She earned her associate's degree in radiologic technology from Palm Beach State College in Palm Beach Gardens and completed additional training in Fort Lauderdale. Staci’s areas of focus include screening and diagnostic breast imaging and utilizing the latest technology in 3D Mammography. She is passionate about educating women on the importance of breast health.
