RIVIERA BEACH, Fla. (CBS12) — FoundCare gave the community an early look at its new Riviera Beach Health Center on Saturday, hosting a free health fair packed with screenings, resources, and family-friendly fun.
The Saturday event served as a one-stop shop for free health checks, wellness information, tasty snacks, and kids' activities — all aimed at promoting healthy living ahead of the center’s official opening.
Guests could also book medical appointments on the spot and explore job opportunities at the new facility.
"We help everyone. Whether you have insurance, don't have insurance, our doors are open to everybody," said FoundCare Chief Executive Officer Christopher Irizarry. "This is a particularly special place for us because we want to make sure that people in Riviera Beach, Lake Park the whole surrounding area have access to primary health care."
According to Health Foundation of South Florida, southern Florida has one of the highest incidence rates of uninsured residents, highlighting the important role of facilities like Riviera Beach Health Center in serving the community.
"We actually partnered with FoundCare to be able to come here to this location so that services could be provided on an ongoing basis for dentistry, for primary care," said KaShamba Miller-Anderson, a vice chair for Riviera Beach City Council.
Set to open in June 2025, the new Riviera Beach health center at 3501 Broadway Ave was still under wraps — but Saturday’s event offered a healthy sneak preview.
