FoundCare's mission is to fulfill unmet healthcare and social service needs of individuals and families in Palm Beach County. In order to accomplish this mission, FoundCare operates a Federally Qualified Health Center that offers pediatric and adult primary care, chronic disease management, infusions, behavioral health counseling, laboratory work, X-rays and dentistry, as well as an on-site pharmacy.

We are seeking an enthusiastic, detail-oriented, self-motivated professional to fulfill key functions as a Patient Access Representatives (PAR). Must have a high level of professionalism, accuracy, and timeliness. Under the direction of the Practice Administrator, the PAR will not only be helpful to patients but also to other staff members. The PAR must ensure our patient’s registration is completed accurately and thoroughly. Once patients have completed the registration process, the PAR will alert the medical assistant and/or phlebotomist that the patient is ready to be clinically triaged.

Essential Job Functions

  • Instructs patients to complete medical forms, review patient’s account status, update information including address, phone number, and financial classification.
  • Collect payment information, gather, review, and enter patient’s insurance, scan all documents to complete registration, and collect/enter co-pay deductibles.
  • Manage prescription refills faxed from other facilities and place in the appropriate medical provider’s mailbox.
  • Upon the completion of registration, highlight electronically that the patient is ready for clinical triaging and instruct the patient where to proceed next.
  • Promote a positive and cooperative work environment by communicating problems and workflow issues with Supervisor and handle conflict in an appropriate manner.
  • Float to assist the front desk staff if needed by answering phones, scheduling appointments, checking patient into the computer system.
  • Must respect the culture, values and opinions of others.
  • Assist with agency fundraising activities as requested, including promoting events, selling tickets, soliciting donations, and other tasks to support events.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Possess 1-2 years of office experience with excellent clerical skills.
  • Outstanding customer service skills and the ability to interact and work with diverse populations.
  • Capable of handling a high volume of data entry with strong PC proficiency and professional demeanor.
  • Bi and Tri-Lingual a plus (Spanish & Creole French)
  • Experience in medical records and electronic billing systems a plus.
  • Experience with processing health insurance enrollment information a plus.
  • Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and communications skills.
  • Flexible schedule allowing for evening and possible Saturday rotation.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with patients, medical staff, coworkers and the public while juggling multiple tasks.
  • Ability to maintain patient and family confidentiality.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to endure short, intermittent, and/or long periods of sitting and/or standing in performance of job duties.
  • Ability to travel to off-site locations and attend meetings, workshops, seminars plus travel to other Foundcare departments and Foundcare conference rooms.
  • Accomplish job duties using various types of equipment/supplies, e.g. pens, pencils, calculators, computer keyboard, telephone, etc.
